Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 11, 2026

SegWhat LLC ("we", "us", "our") operates the BlockClock mobile application. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Do Not Collect

BlockClock is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit:

Own Node Mode

When you connect BlockClock to your own Bitcoin node, all communication happens directly between your device and your node over your local network. No data passes through our servers. Your node connection credentials (host, port, RPC username, and password) are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us.

BlockClock Cloud Mode

When using BlockClock Cloud, the app fetches Bitcoin network data (block height, difficulty, fee estimates, mempool status, and price) from our servers. These requests do not include any personally identifiable information, account identifiers, or device identifiers. While our servers necessarily receive IP addresses as part of standard network communication, we do not retain access logs or associate any request with an individual user. Any transient logs used for security and abuse prevention are not retained beyond what is necessary to keep the service available, and are never combined with other information to identify you.

Bitcoin News Feed

The news feed fetches headlines from public Bitcoin news sources. Tapping a headline opens the article in your device's browser. We do not track which articles you read.

In-App Purchases

Optional donations and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive or store your payment information. Purchase records are managed by the respective platform.

Widgets and Complications

Home screen widgets, lock screen widgets, and watch complications display cached Bitcoin data stored locally on your device. No network requests are made directly by widgets — they read data that the main app has already fetched. On iOS this includes Home Screen widgets, Lock Screen widgets, and Apple Watch complications; on Android this includes home screen widgets. In both cases, widgets only read data that the main app has already fetched and stored locally on your device.

Apple Watch (App Store / iOS version only)

This section applies only to the App Store (iOS) version of BlockClock. The Google Play (Android) version does not include Apple Watch functionality and this section does not apply to Android users.

If you pair BlockClock with an Apple Watch, the iOS app can optionally sync your in-app settings and the most recent cached Bitcoin data to your watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This sync happens directly between your iPhone and your paired Apple Watch over the local connection Apple manages between the two devices — no data passes through SegWhat servers, and no Apple Watch data is sent to us. You can disable Apple Watch sync at any time from the app's Settings screen.

Data Storage

All app data (settings, cached network data, theme preferences) is stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, all local data is removed.

Third-Party Services

BlockClock does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Children's Privacy

BlockClock does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app displays publicly available Bitcoin network data and does not require account creation.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
